(notices the children)
Hi hi, kids!
(hesitantly waves)
Hello children! I urgently need your help. Will you help me?
(the children answer)
Actually, my friend, Kasper, should be here to greet you, but when I walked over to his place earlier, he wasn't home. This piece of paper was stuck to his door. Let me read it out to you:
"Dear Seppel, I've gone on vacation, and you need to welcome the children! Love, Kasper"
Imagine that! Kasper has gone off on vacation without me, when he knows that I can't sing the welcome song. Can you help me?
(the children answer)
(the children answer)
(the children answer)
(singing as he goes behind the curtain)
(Grandma comes onto the stage) Kasper? Kaaaasper? Hello children, have you seen Kasper?
(the children answer)
(Grandma looks all around)
(Once again,Seppel sings behind the stage - Tri-tra-Trullala)
(The children call for Seppel to come out)
(Seppel sings and comes back onto the stage with the slip of paper)
(Grandma takes the slip of paper from Seppel and reads) Seppel, something's wrong. I don't believe that Kasper wrote the note. There are so many mistakes on the piece of paper and I practiced all the words with Kasper just yesterday. Last night he spelled all the words right and here, all the words are wrong.
(Kasper and Grandma leave, and from the other side the wizard comes on carrying a heavy bag)
Oh, this is heavy. Why does it have to be so heavy? Too bad I don't know any spells to magic this heavy bag lighter!
(notices the children calling out)
Yes, what is it? Who's shouting so loud? Yes, children, shh! Sshh! If you scream like that, Grandma and Seppel will arrive. And they mustn't see me! Shoot, if you guys don't stop, I'd better get out of here.
(Magician leaves the stage again, Kasper comes on from the other side.)
(Children shout to out to Kasper that Seppel and Grandma are looking for him.)
(Seppel comes on from the other side with the note) I don't believe it! There's Kasper! Hello Kasper, how did you get out of the magician's castle?
(Kasper takes the note, reads it and throws it away) Yes, somebody fry me a bucket of fries! How can you think that I would have made so many mistakes when yesterday I studied all day with my grandma and because of that, she wanted to make me fries today.
(Kasper has an idea)
The fries! Seppel, I think it was the magician who wrote the note.
(If there are two puppet players,Seppel remains on stage. If only one, Seppel leaves and Grandma comes on stage with the bag)
(Kasper and Grandma - with two players, Seppel too- leave singing)
