Tra-tra-trallalah … No, that's not right! Tru-la-trirara! Yes, it's for milking mice, how do the words go next? I have to say hello to the childr...…
(notices the children)
Hi hi, kids!
(hesitantly waves)
Hello children! I urgently need your help. Will you help me?

(the children answer)

seppel-100x100.jpg

Actually, my friend, Kasper, should be here to greet you, but when I walked over to his place earlier, he wasn't home. This piece of paper was stuck to his door. Let me read it out to you:

"Dear Seppel, I've gone on vacation, and you need to welcome the children! Love, Kasper"

Imagine that! Kasper has gone off on vacation without me, when he knows that I can't sing the welcome song. Can you help me?

(the children answer)

seppel-100x100.jpg
Do you know how the song goes that Kasper always sings? Tru-li-trarara?

(the children answer)

seppel-100x100.jpg
Tri-tru-lallala?

(the children answer)

seppel-100x100.jpg
Oh, Tri-tra-trullala? Is that what you mean? Fantastic! Then I'll come back right away and then I can really greet you properly. So wait right here and I'll be back right away.

(singing as he goes behind the curtain)

seppel-100x100.jpg
Tri-tra-trullala, tri-tra-trullala, tri-tra-trullala
oma-100x100.jpg

(Grandma comes onto the stage) Kasper? Kaaaasper? Hello children, have you seen Kasper?

(the children answer)

oma-100x100.jpg
No? But I've heard him. My Kasper is always singing the same song! Tri-tra-trullala, tri-tra-trullala. Only Kasper can sing the song.

(Grandma looks all around)

oma-100x100.jpg
Kasper Where are you? Kaaasper? I just heard him singing. Where's the boy gone?

(Once again,Seppel sings behind the stage - Tri-tra-Trullala)

oma-100x100.jpg
What? Now I can hear him Kasper must be coming right now. What do you think, kids?

(The children call for Seppel to come out)

oma-100x100.jpg
What? Who's coming? Seppel? No, he doesn't know the song at all!

(Seppel sings and comes back onto the stage with the slip of paper)

seppel-100x100.jpg
Tri-tra-Trullala, Seppel's back!
oma-100x100.jpg
Seppel, what are you doing here? Where is Kasper?
seppel-100x100.jpg
Kasper? Guess what, grandma, he has just headed off on vacation, without me, and I'm his best friend!
oma-100x100.jpg
On vacation? Yeah, how's that?
seppel-100x100.jpg
I don't even know. But look, he stuck this slip of paper on his door.
oma-100x100.jpg

(Grandma takes the slip of paper from Seppel and reads) Seppel, something's wrong. I don't believe that Kasper wrote the note. There are so many mistakes on the piece of paper and I practiced all the words with Kasper just yesterday. Last night he spelled all the words right and here, all the words are wrong.

seppel-100x100.jpg
My goodness, what's that supposed to mean? So where is Kasper then? Do you think Kasper has run away?
oma-100x100.jpg
When I cooked him his favorite dish today? I have made him delicious fries because he studied so hard yesterday. No, I can't believe it.
seppel-100x100.jpg
Oh dear! Fries? That reminds me. Yesterday the magician was with us and asked Kasper if he would like to peel a big bag of potatoes for him, but Kasper refused and the magician was grumpy and went away cursing.
oma-100x100.jpg
Oh, Seppel, maybe the wizard has kidnapped Kasper, and now poor Kasper is sitting somewhere in the deep vault of the magician's castle, peeling potatoes? Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!
seppel-100x100.jpg
Grandma, we have to go to the sergeant quickly so that he can help us find the wizard and free Kasper.

(Kasper and Grandma leave, and from the other side the wizard comes on carrying a heavy bag)

zauberer-100x100.jpg

Oh, this is heavy. Why does it have to be so heavy? Too bad I don't know any spells to magic this heavy bag lighter!

(notices the children calling out)

Yes, what is it? Who's shouting so loud? Yes, children, shh! Sshh! If you scream like that, Grandma and Seppel will arrive. And they mustn't see me! Shoot, if you guys don't stop, I'd better get out of here.

(Magician leaves the stage again, Kasper comes on from the other side.)

kasper-100x100.jpg
Wow, how could this have happened to me?! Hello kids, there you are. Can you believe that Seppel was supposed to wake me up this morning so I could welcome you? But the simpleton didn't wake me up, and now I've overslept wasn't able to welcome you! Have you seen Seppel?

(Children shout to out to Kasper that Seppel and Grandma are looking for him.)

kasper-100x100.jpg
What's that, Seppel and Grandma are looking for me? Why's that?
seppel-100x100.jpg

(Seppel comes on from the other side with the note) I don't believe it! There's Kasper! Hello Kasper, how did you get out of the magician's castle?

kasper-100x100.jpg
Out of the magician's castle? No, I just got out of bed, because, you, you fool, didn't wake me up!
seppel-100x100.jpg
But I didn't waken you because I thought you were on vacation, because that's what you wrote on the note, and then Grandma thought that you weren't on holiday, and instead the magician had kidnapped you and now everyone's searching for you...
kasper-100x100.jpg

(Kasper takes the note, reads it and throws it away) Yes, somebody fry me a bucket of fries! How can you think that I would have made so many mistakes when yesterday I studied all day with my grandma and because of that, she wanted to make me fries today.

(Kasper has an idea)

The fries! Seppel, I think it was the magician who wrote the note.

seppel-100x100.jpg
So that I wouldn't waken you, because I would think that you weren't there.
kasper-100x100.jpg
And while you were looking for me and I was sleeping, he could steal the fries! Yes, what a mean guy!

(If there are two puppet players,Seppel remains on stage. If only one, Seppel leaves and Grandma comes on stage with the bag)

oma-100x100.jpg
Kasper, you're back! Thank God! I have been searching for you everywhere! Guess what? The sergeant just caught the magician trying to steal my fries! He was going to leave the bag of potatoes here.
kasper-100x100.jpg
Oh, Grandma, I think we'll have to cook another portion of fries today, I slept soooooo long, I'm starving! I'll help you with the peeling and cutting, too.
oma-100x100.jpg
OK, Kasper, let's do that.

(Kasper and Grandma - with two players, Seppel too- leave singing)
