Focus on employees
Working for HABA means working for the best target group in the world: children and their families. Of the more than 2,000 employees who work for the HABA Family of Companies altogether, around 1,800 are based at the company’s Bad Rodach site. The proportion of women is particularly high throughout the HABA Family of Companies: almost 60% of the workforce is female. These are all impressive figures, data, and facts. But for us as a family company steeped in tradition, it is what is behind this that is even more important: the people themselves. Many of our employees are parents or grandparents themselves and therefore have a very personal relationship with the products they develop, produce, and sell.
Family-friendly working conditions
All our employees dedicate their energy, their knowledge, and their drive to our company every day. So for us, creating an environment and conditions in which they can balance their professional and family life in the best possible way is a matter of course. This applies particularly to childcare, where we support our employees with the following services:
- Childcare for employees’ children aged 6 months to 6 years in Kinderhaus Luise Habermaass
- School holiday care during the summer holidays for children aged 4 to 10 years
- Individual, flexible working time models
We also provide individual support to employees who look after relatives in need of care at home.
Certified family-friendly policies
For our commitment, we have been awarded the “audit berufundfamilie®” certificate since 2003. This audit is an initiative of the charitable Hertie Foundation. Its independent committee assesses, via a comprehensive catalog of criteria, which family-friendly measures and options a company offers. For us, the “audit berufundfamilie®” means that we constantly review our family-friendly HR policy and will continue to optimize it in the future.
Responsibility for the health of employees
Health is a top priority for us to work efficiently. To make sure this remains the case, we carry out a large number of proactive measures as part of our company health management (BGM). These include a wide array of health courses – from A for aqua aerobics to Z for Zumba. In addition, the JobRad initiative has been running for some time. This enables employees to use company bicycles on their way to work and in their free time and thus to be mobile in a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly, and healthy way.
Even though it is unhealthy, in day-to-day office life hardly anyone can avoid sitting for long periods of time. So it’s all the more important that the workplace is ergonomically designed. This is ensured in the HABA Family of Companies by trained “ErgoScouts”: employees who check and adjust the desk chairs and monitors of their colleagues from an ergonomic point of view.
